LINEBORING OF CAMSHAFT LINES
The worldwide known transportable "B 204 tool" from Carl Baguhn is also used for line boring of camshaft center lines. It is installed on your site with specific adapters and aligned in the shortest possible time.
MACHINING OF CRANKSHAFT FLANGES / SURFACES
To grind the flanges of a crankshaft, the crankshaft does not have to be removed. Our portable grinding machine is mounted on the flange with an adapter plate and aligned with a dial gauge. The flange surface is machined with a diamond-coated wheel.
CYLINDER LINER SUPPORTS
Carl Baguhn manufactures suitable supports for cylinder liners. Water and gas leaks can be repaired by simple grinding or facing. To do this, an engine-specific adapter plate is mounted over the stud bolts and the Carl Baguhn tool attachment is aligned with the existing surfaces. Depending on the depth of the leakage, the surface is then ground or face machined. If the upper or lower fit is too corroded, the crankcase can also be bored to oversize, and nitrogen-prepared repair bushings inserted. This restores the original geometries.
CRACK TESTING: MAGNAFLUX AND DYE PENETRANT TESTING.
Carl Baguhn's certified staff and airworthy test material can perform crack testing directly at your site. Two methods are used for this purpose:

In the Magnaflux method, Carl Baguhn uses a flyable iron oxide powder that is mixed with water/oil on site. Now the workpiece is partially magnetized, creating field lines. The iron oxide mixture is then spread over the magnetized stray field and UV light is used to make its accumulation in the cracks visible.
In the dye penetrant process, a red penetrant is applied to the pre-cleaned surface and allowed to act until a potential crack is filled. The surface is then intermediately cleaned and a white chalk-like layer is applied. This layer removes the red color from the crack, making it visible.
